Authorities in Louisiana issued an arrest warrant for Bruce Tigani Jr., who they believe ran an anonymous social media account ("Abe") that threatened critics of Medical Properties Trust (MPT). Tigani Jr. was arrested in Wilmington, Delaware, on April 2 and charged as an out-of-state fugitive. He faces a felony charge for making death threats on X against Louisiana state Rep. Michael Echols, who introduced legislation targeting MPT. The warrant implies Tigani Jr.'s motive was to keep MPT's stock high, as he heavily promoted it on social media. If Tigani Jr. does not agree to appear in Louisiana court, a "fugitive hearing" is scheduled in Delaware in May for his extradition.
