Marine Corps’ inaugural agentic and genAI workshop spotlighted need for training, more trust

Senior military officials are reviewing insights from the Marine Corps’ first Generative and Agentic AI Workshop, held in Quantico last month, to inform AI integration plans. The four-day event, attended by 350 individuals and 102 companies, highlighted the critical need for training and trust in AI adoption. Maj. Christopher Clark, the Corps’ AI lead, stated that attendees emphasized concerns around policies, governance, and a lack of instruction on accessing AI models. A major takeaway was that Marines will not use technology they don't trust, underscoring the importance of training to ensure safe and effective integration. The Corps' AI implementation plan, launched last year, includes clear directions to educate and train Marines across all levels, with Project Dynamis leading the integration of Palantir’s Maven Smart System.
