The Working Families Party (WFP) has rolled out a slate of policy proposals, called the “Working Families Guarantee,” backed by more than two dozen Democratic candidates and representatives. This platform aims to address voter anxiety about AI-related job losses by proposing a program to place Americans in union jobs in green infrastructure and healthcare, rather than direct cash dividends. The WFP plans to fund this program by increasing taxes on the rich, and it also includes guaranteed low-cost health and childcare. This initiative is part of an ongoing struggle over the future of AI policy within the Democratic Party, with the WFP pushing moderate candidates further left. Representative Pramila Jayapal (D-WA) and Rep. Delia C. Ramirez (D-IL) are among the politicians endorsing the platform.
