Twenty years, one question: What does it mean to be Black and European?

British photographer Johny Pitts has spent 20 years traveling across Europe to explore the question: "what does it actually mean to be Black and European?" His extensive work, titled "Black Bricolage," is now featured in an exhibition at the Maison Européenne de la Photographie in Paris. The exhibition compiles photographs, notebooks, and documents from cities like Paris, Berlin, Lisbon, Marseille, and Brussels. Pitts' project captures the everyday lives of Black Europeans, offering a nuanced perspective rarely seen in mainstream media. This exhibition provides a significant cultural platform for understanding Black identity within a European context.
