Army to stand up new center that’s ‘going to be like the 9-1-1 for how we move data,’ general says

The Army is establishing a new Army Data Operation Center (ADOC) to manage the service's data, according to Lt. Gen. Jeth Rey, deputy chief of staff for the G-6. Rey stated the military has a "data management problem," not an issue with data itself, which the ADOC aims to resolve by fusing data movement from partners to joint forces and combatant commands. The center is intended to address previously "siloed" data systems that bogged down information flows. Rey indicated a rollout of the ADOC would occur "in a few weeks," with the Army currently identifying personnel, such as engineers, for the center. Over the next six months, the Army will determine the center's future and expansion.
