Iranian Americans Have Turned Against the War, New Poll Finds

Iranian American support for the U.S.–Israel war on Iran has collapsed to nearly two-thirds opposition, up from near-even division at the conflict's start, according to a Zogby Analytics survey commissioned by the National Iranian American Council. The 17-percentage-point swing reflects growing concern over civilian casualties and dimmed prospects for regime collapse following Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei's death in early March. Jamal Abdi, president of NIAC, rejected claims that the diaspora backs regime change "no matter what the cost," calling such assertions dangerous and unsupported by data. Seventy percent of Iranian Americans now believe President Trump should end the war, while only 25 percent want it to continue, as Trump prepares to address the conflict Wednesday night amid uncertainty over whether he will seek withdrawal or escalation.
