The Bizarre Connection Between Iran Negotiations and Trump’s Crypto Firm

Zach Witkoff, CEO of Donald Trump’s crypto finance firm World Liberty Financial (WLF), signed a deal in January with Pakistan’s finance minister to allow WLF’s stablecoin for Pakistan’s cross-border transactions. This agreement was made with General Asim Munir, Pakistan’s top army officer, present, despite WLF's token value plummeting from 31 cents to 8 cents. Three months later, Munir is involved in negotiations to settle the war in Iran, working with Witkoff’s father, Steve Witkoff, whom President Trump appointed as his Mideast envoy. The elder Witkoff will join Vice President JD Vance and Jared Kushner at the negotiating table on Saturday with Iran’s negotiators, brokered by Pakistan. This intertwines the Trump family's financial interests, which have already earned about $1 billion from WLF, with US foreign policy and national security interests.
