Trump's Iran post causes talk of his impeachment, removal to erupt among Hill Democrats

Congressional Democrats are calling for President Trump's removal from office following his Truth Social post threatening that "a whole civilization will die tonight" regarding Iran. Rep. Yassamin Ansari (D-Ariz.), president of House Democrats' freshman class, issued a statement Monday urging the use of the 25th Amendment. Numerous representatives, including Reps. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) and Mark Pocan (D-Wisc.), explicitly called for impeachment or 25th Amendment invocation. White House spokesperson Davis Ingle dismissed these calls as "pathetic," stating Democrats have discussed impeachment since before Trump's second term. While rank-and-file lawmakers are coordinating, these conversations have not yet reached leadership levels, who are focused on an Iran war powers vote.
