Hackers join U.S. and Israel's fight with Iran

A parallel online conflict is unfolding between the U.S. and Israel, and Iran, alongside military strikes. A recent cyberattack, allegedly linked to Iran-aligned hackers, disrupted operations at U.S. medical technology company Stryker, which confirmed a "global network disruption to our Microsoft environment" but reported no ransomware or malware and that the incident is "contained." This incident highlights the use of cyber tactics by Iranian actors, who have increased activity against entities in the Middle East, the U.S., and parts of Asia following Feb. 28 airstrikes. Conversely, Israel reportedly hacked an Iranian prayer app to send defection notifications to military personnel and accessed Tehran's traffic cameras, which were used to target an air strike that killed Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
